For more than 35 years I have combined my professional skills as an electronics engineer with my hobby of radio controlled model flying. During the formative period of what has now become our standard proportional equipment, I was both a designer of commercial systems and the author of magazine articles on home construction. Equipment carrying my Microtrol design brand logo was often seen in the hands of many flyers.
My experimental interests continue and together with my partner Virginia, I regularly fly gliders using my own design computer radio control equipment. Whilst it is not practical to offer such equipment for home construction, a number of designs for specialist ancillary equipment are now being made available on a semi-commercial basis.
